Thank you for the tip!

See? macOS is a Linux distro.

From Wikipedia:

NeXTSTEP is a discontinued object-oriented, multitasking operating system based on the Mach kernel and the UNIX-derived BSD. It was developed by NeXT Computer, founded by Steve Jobs, in the late 1980s and early 1990s and was initially used for its range of proprietary workstation computers such as the NeXTcube. It was later ported to several other computer architectures.

I thought the smiley would make it clear I was joking. Apparently not.

I remember seeing this on the front cover of Byte when it first came out in the late 1980s.
Just unbelievably advanced compared to what was on the market at the time.
And achingly cool!

OmegaT 6.0.1 says it requires OmegaT 5.7.3! Is anyone successfully using OmegaT 6 ? Jan 20

Again, on a m2 Mac running Sequoia, I started OmegaT 6.0.1, created a project and added a docx file.
Then a popup "Check OmegaT version" was displayed telling me "OmegaT 5.7.3 (built by cApStAn) is required."
Why?

Is anyone successfully running OmegaT 6 on a Mac under Sequoia?

This is what I did:
I copied "OmegaT.app/Contents/MacOS/OmegaT" (without the quotes) into Terminal.
Then I right click on the OmegaT app ---> Show package content
Open Contents --> Open MacOS --> Double click on OmegaT.
Terminal open. processes the instruction here above and OmegaT runs like a charm.
I think Terminal has to stay open, but you can work with OmegaT.
I used the 6.1.0 release you can find inside Weekly Builds.

Since you already use another Java-based CAT tool on your Mac: what are the advantages of omegaT?

When I have some spare time I like to play around with applications, so I installed ΩT and play around some. It has some nice features and can be helpful when your CAT of choice acts up or is crippled by its developpers. And it's free, so I'm following the development with a lot of admiration for the generosity and dedication of the developers.

Nice features: always ... useful! Don't hesitate to share them here or elsewhere where we meet.

BTW: I'm playing around with +Tools beta. Also out of curiosity, for the case the CAT gets killed because of spilling the milk.

Further to my previous instructions Jan 21

I looked through the installation process of OmegaT again and have completed the instructions, it works here, hope it works for you, too:

Copy "OmegaT.app/Contents/MacOS/OmegaT" (without the quotes) into Terminal.
Go to System Settings/Privacy&Security/
Down in the list you will see Security and here it says something like OmegaT is blocked, click on "Open anyway".
Click on the topmost item Accessibility and check the OmegaT switch in the list.
Then right cli

Could be that you have to try several times or even restart the OS, but in the end it works.
