Izvorni tekst - engleski The Botanical Garden of Lisbon is a scientific garden created in the mid-nineteenth century to complement modern teaching and botany research at the Polytechnic School. The place chosen on Mount Olivete had already more than two centuries of tradition in the study of Botany, begun with the Jesuit College of Cotovia, here established between 1609 and 1759. For the installation of the garden at this site, a draft regulation was drawn up in 1843. However, it is only in 1873, through the initiative of the Count of Ficalho (1837-1903) and Andrade Corvo (1824-1890), teachers at the Polytechnic School, that the planting begins. The enormous diversity of plants was first collected by the German Edmund Goeze (1838 – 1929) and the French Jules Daveau (1852 – 1929), from all over the world in which there were territories under Portuguese sovereignty, Edmund Goeze, the first chief gardener, outlined the “Class” and Jules Daveau was in charge of the “Arboretum.”
Prevod - slovenački Botanični vrt v Lizboni je bil zgrajen v znanstvene namene v sredini 19. stoletja, da bi dopolnil sodobno poučevanje in botanične raziskave na Politehnični šoli. Izbrano mesto na griču Monte Olivete je imelo že več kot dva stoletja tradicije v raziskovanju botanike, ki se je začelo v Jezuitskem kolegiju Cotovia, ki je bilo tukaj uveljavljeno med 1609 in 1759. Za gradnjo vrta na tem zemljišču je bil uveden predlog uredbe leta 1843. Vendar se je šele leta 1873, pod pobudo grofa Ficalhe (1837-1903) in Andrada Corva (1824-1890), ki sta bila učitelja na Politehnični šoli, pričelo sajenje sadik. Izvorni tekst - nemački Jetzt führt ein 120 Meter langer und zehn Meter breiter Ausleitungskanal aus Beton Wasser aus der Traun. In dem Kanal befinden sich zwei Stahlklappen. Die erste steuert, wie viel Wasser in den Kanal kommt, mit der zweiten wird die Welle produziert. Wenn das hereinströmende Wasser über diese zweite Klappe fließt, dann trifft es darunter auf ein Becken mit langsamen Wasser, wird davon reflektiert und bildet dann gewissermaßen eine Mulde, eine stehende Welle. Für Surfer*innen, die sich in diese Welle trauen, hebt die Schwerkraft darin die Strömung auf. „Rein theoretisch kann man ewig auf dieser Welle surfen, wenn einem die Oberschenkel nicht blau werden“, lacht Max.
Prevod - slovenački Zdaj vodi 120 metrov dolg in 10 metrov širok betonski pretočni kanal vodo iz reke Traun. V kanalu sta nameščeni dve jekleni plošči, prva uravnava jakost pretoka v kanalu in druga ustvari umetni val. Deroča voda priteče čez drugo ploščo in zadane pod sabo stoječo vodo v bazenu, od katere se potem odbije in tako ustvari kotanjo, tako imenovan stoječ val. Za surferje/ke, ki si upajo na ta val s pomočjo težnosti izkoristijo tok vode. "Teoretično bi lahko na tem valu surfal v neskončnost, če vam prej mišice v nogah ne zakrči", se je pošalil Max.

Biografija
During the past 4 years of studying translations my passion for it grew so much more and therefore I try my best to improve and grow as a translator. My previous exchange semester in Lisbon, Portugal triggered a domino effect of events that led me to this site. I am also learning the Portuguese language since then and I find it very interesting and helpful for other romanic languages. I was raised bilingual because my mother is from Germany and they moved with my father to Slovenia which is his and my home country.
I love the intercultural connections linked during translations and that is why this is my dream job.
