Hello,
I got a TM as a txt-file from a customer and imported it into Trados. In the txt-file the special characters are ok, but after importing to Trados all special characters, like ü,ö,ä, are not shown correct. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I am using Trados 6.5.2.417 and Word 2002.

I am sorry, I searched the wrong forum. Now I searched the right forum and found that this was discussed before: http://www.proz.com/topic/39248.
It seems to be caused by the new TM format which uses Unicode.
Can I solve this problem by changing import settings?

Import file formatting

Hi Edith,
Can I solve this problem by changing import settings?
Not the settings, but the import file - open it in a text editor and save it in a non-Unicode format.

Now I think that everything is displayed correct. Thank you very much for your help, and I think from Cécile too.
I'm looking forward for the conference in Berlin. I will ask a lot of questions about Trados.
Kind regards Edith
