It will use the ones you select in the pre-translation pane.

Settings May 24, 2023

Yes, that's a bit old. You do have a Settings link, but it's greyed out for some reason. Is it a free/trial version or client-licence version? They have some restrictions.

This is a different setting May 24, 2023

You don't have that feature (at least not in your screenshot), The greyed-out Settings link is for fragment assembling, not for pre-translation. If you check the 'Perform fragment assembling' box, the greyed-out Settings will turn active. But it won't solve your issue. I think, memoQ uses TMs checked in the TMs pane.

No idea May 24, 2023

I have no idea why that link is greyed out, then, since you do have TMs attached and it's a full version. I presume it's behind that link that you can choose the TMs. My screenshot is from version 10, but it's probably just the text that has been changed.

You could ask in groups.io/g/memoQ/, which is very active.

thank you for your contributions May 24, 2023

I submited a ticket to memoQ Support.
I think Stepan is right in that memoq uses the TM's checked on the TM's panel
for the Pre-translation process

In a newer version, if you had the option mentioned by Thomas T. Frost, you would see that the TMs listed in the option window are exactly the same as the TMs checked in the Translation Memories view. And if you uncheck one TM in the Translation Memories view, it also disappears from the above-mentioned option list. I mean that the Select TMs and LiveDocs corpora... link is just a shortcut to the Translation Memories view.

Not quite. It's a pane where one can select or deselect any of the TMs currently attached to use for pretranslation, but it's not the same menu. Unless I misunderstood what you meant.

what you check in the Translation Memories pane appears checked here too. If you uncheck a TM in the Translation Memories view, it would disappear from here.
Ah, ok, I said that it is exactly the same feature. Right you are, my assumption is wrong. This is not a shortcut to the Translation Memories view. But still one depends on the other.

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, indeed. What you can do in the pre-translation TM pane is to remove one or more of the attached TMs as pre-translation source, so that not all the TMs attached to the project are used for pre-translation, which, I believe, is what Angel Llacuna wants.

I don't remember if this was possible in version 8. Maybe the only solution is to upgrade (or remove one or more TMs from the project while pre-translating).

Same percentage but different words? May 24, 2023

I think that older versions just didn't have that option. By the way I still wonder which TM memoQ uses for pre-translation when I use a number of TMs and all of them contain an equal match rate but different translations. How does it know which TM to choose? For example, Trados uses the uppermost TM in the list. Any idea?
