I have a neutral accent, midway between the American and British accents. Extensive travel has also made me adept at customising my pace and vocabulary for non-native speakers of English. Furthermore, 30 years as a foreign-language learner myself, 3 years as a Spanish teacher, and a lifetime of travel have exposed me to the challenges facing language learners, especially of conversational English.

I have always been convinced that if people are able to better communicate with each other, we can better understand each other and be less prone to the prejudices that cause hatred, aggression, and conflict. I am also cognisant of the empowering role that learning English can play in the lives of marginalised women, in particular, in some countries. It would be my pleasure, therefore, to play a role in bridging cultural, trade, and economic gaps through language instruction.
