Does anybody know a speech recognition system (for German) that supports Trados, TagEditor etc.?

It depends what you mean by "supports" Feb 27, 2008

First, DNS is the only game in town, so it's not really a question of comparsion shopping here. ViaVoice is pretty useless, and Windows native speech recognition doesn't appear to be ready for primetime either.

If you just want to dictate text and don't mind pressing all the silly alt+[num]+'s and whatnot for Trados, you'll be fine using whatever version of DNS you decide to buy. However, if you want to use voice commands to drive Trados, you'll need to buy the professional version

If you just want to dictate text and don't mind pressing all the silly alt+[num]+'s and whatnot for Trados, you'll be fine using whatever version of DNS you decide to buy. However, if you want to use voice commands to drive Trados, you'll need to buy the professional version of DNS (or a lesser version coupled with Vocola). Either way, you'll have to learn how to write some simple macros to either directly trigger Trados commands (when in Word) or send keystrokes (when in TagEditor, which doesn't provide any way to trigger commands directly).

So if by "support" you mean, "Can I dictate into it?" the answer is "yes;" if you mean, "Will it do everything I want without me ever having to tap another key?" the answer is, "No, no right out of the box, but with the right version an a bit of ingenuity it is possible."
