I think the list of languages should put first the most spoken languages or the ones with more users at ProZ. This would make translators and clients very happy. It would look something like:
English
Spanish
Chinese
French
Portuguese
This should be applied to all drop down language menus.

This would wreak havoc. It is a well-intentioned suggestion, but I am sure that users of this system will not accept anything short of an alphabetical order.
This community stands for equality, and we should not attach weightings to the languages like that.
