English to Spanish: Guy Fawkes General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Folklore
Source text - English Soon, people began placing effigies onto bonfires, and fireworks were added to the celebrations. Effigies of Guy Fawkes, and sometimes those of the Pope, graced the pyres. Still today, some communities throw dummies of both Guy Fawkes and the Pope on the bonfire (and even those of a contemporary politician or two), although the gesture is seen by most as a quirky tradition, rather than an expression of hostility towards the Pope.
Translation - Spanish Poco después se comenzaron a colocar efigies sobre las hogueras, y se añadieron fuegos artificiales a la celebración. Las figuras de Guy Fawkes, e incluso a veces las del Papa, decoraban las piras. Aún hoy, algunas comunidades arrojan muñecos tanto de Guy Fawkes como del Papa a la hoguera (e incluso de algún que otro político contemporáneo), aunque se ve el gesto como una tradición extravagante más que como una hostilidad hacia el Papa.

Source text - English "Charles B. Foster is the local secret agent.
He lives in an undercover world of espionage, gadgets and secret missions.
You never know when he might pop in for a new haircut to disguise his appearance.
Favourite dance move: the splits."
"Mr. Stickle is the angriest vegetable in the village.
As the last barber found to his cost, Stickle's a very hard stick of celery to please.
Nothing makes him happier than being miserable!
Favourite fancy-dress costume: traffic warden's uniform."
"Mollyflower is a cheerful, happy soul who likes to see the best in everyone and everything.
Being with Mollyflower is like being smothered with the love of a mother, nurse, therapist and big soppy dog—all in one!
Favourite snack: cheese."
"Red Wedge is a veg on the edge!
He's the ultimate thrill seeker who's ready for any crazy adrenaline rush.
At least that's what he tells everyone; there are some in the village who say he's too afraid to even tie his shoelaces...
Favourite vitamin: A"
Vitamina preferida: A"

Bio
Bio
English-to-Spanish game translator and localization specialist with over 10 years of experience. I have a BA in English Studies with specialization in English Literature, from Universidad de Cádiz, Spain. I also have an MA in Translation and New Technologies with specialization in videogame localization, from Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo, Spain.
I can translate and adapt your game into Spanish and the Spanish market, since I can offer my expertise translating games where different linguistic variants are used, such as English accents or dialects. I can translate them into Spanish without sacrificing the original tone of the characters without neutralizing them into standard Spanish.
Besides, I highly value the use of inclusive language in Spanish, since it is considerably a more gendered language than English, it is easy to fall on the use (or overuse!) of the male voice in the Spanish translation when the original wasn't intended to be exclusively addressed to a male audience.
I am a proficient user of Trados Studio 2021, DéjàVu X3, memoQ, Smartcat, Wordfast, Memsource, among other CAT tools. Actually, I am the Spanish ambassador of DéjàVu in Spain.
