acta de detención

Lydia De Jorge Apr 11, 2007:
arresting act
Catalina Connon (asker) Apr 11, 2007:
yes, as Lydia says, detención = arrest, but "acta de detención" is a paper or record of the arrest. The police are asking questions and writing down the character's answers on it.

{taking a statement}/ an interrogation

from what Catalina says, it sounds like this. When the police arrest anyone, they have to take a statement - an official document recording the suspected criminal's evidence.

But I feel that "interrogation" has stronger implications, more suitable in this context

Or 'arrest charge sheet'.
