STANDBY/OFFLINE UPS I tried to add "STANDBY" to the glossary entry, as above, but it remained as "OFFLINE UPS". This often happens so I wonder if anyone knows why the entry is not changed?

Interesting... From personal experience, I know that Industry standards are usually minimum 2 UPSs per server - 1 for when the mains power fails, and the other to kick-in when the 1st UPS drains its power. You could say a "UPS-on-demand" (which would cover "demanda" I think). I'll post an answer rather than ramble here...

Yes "UPS 3 kVA". Its definitely an "Uninterruptible Power Supply" (no break). Just not sure about the "demanda" bit and where it should go.

Based on the fact that you've got another UPS in your list, it's got to be this IMO.

BTW, in practice it's virtually always called a "UPS" (for obvious reasons). I've only ever heard it called the long-format name at uni or on courses, etc.
