\"Die stamping\" might be better, but it\'s very similar I think. In both cases there is a very heavy press that stamps and cuts the metal sheets into certain shapes.

Maybe this will help:
- Stamping : This is the process by which parts (bodies, doors, bonnets, floorpans) are cut out of sheet metal. Completely automated machines known as transfer presses carry out all the work of cutting and shaping the metal. The parts no longer have to be moved from one machine to another, as in the old days. The presses too are kept supplied automatically and continuously.

Personally, I'd call it the stamping shop. I think the different sections of a car plant tend to be called shops, but don't quote me on that!

: The definition is correct but in a plant this is not called "shop". It can be a sector, a section, a department, even a division, depends on the organization chart
