Rapporto di fiducia tra Parlamento e Governo
Entro dieci giorni dalla sua nomina il nuovo Governo si presenta davanti alle Camere per esporre il proprio programma, su cui deve ottenere la fiducia del Parlamento (art. 94, terzo comma, Cost. [E]).

In caso di mancata fiducia, il Presidente della Repubblica si rimette all’opera, secondo la consueta procedura già esaminata.

La permanenza del rapporto di fiducia tra Governo e Parlamento può essere verificata anche durante il corso della vita del governo attraverso due procedure:

* la mozione di sfiducia [G], che consiste in un documento firmato da almeno un decimo dei componenti di una Camera, nel quale si espongono i motivi per i quali il Governo ha perso il consenso politico che aveva all’inizio. Se viene approvata a maggioranza dei votanti, il Governo è tenuto a dimettersi [I];
* la questione di fiducia, che può essere posta dal Presidente del Consiglio relativamente all’approvazione di un determinato provvedimento fondamentale per la realizzazione del programma di Governo.

In questo caso il Governo fa dipendere la sua permanenza in carica dall’approvazione del provvedimento. Infatti, un’eventuale mancanza di approvazione da parte del Parlamento equivale al ritiro della fiducia, con le conseguenti dimissioni del Governo stesso. Per effetto della questione di fiducia non possono essere proposti emendamenti al testo su cui è posta.

When a govenment "pone la fiducia" to ensure a bill is passed quickly, the term gillottine or the original French cloture is perhaps more appropriate and this is I think is what is meant by porre la fiducia not as a motion itself, but attaching it to another bill. "Porre la fiducia sulla legge finanziaria". To Guillotine the bill.
Parliament might call for a vote of confidence in the Government, because it thinks it should resign, which is different.

Silvia each country has its own laws and systems. Cloture is the original French term, something similar was used in the English Parliament, and again something similar in the US. When I first looked at your answer, I was going to agree, but then I thought no, this is different and it is in the word "call". The opposition or a rebel in the government would call for it to resign and would "call" for a vote of confidence attacking it because they think it is weak.
Here it is the government which imposes it prevent filibustering and above all ememdments which each have to be debated.
