Qualcuno sa che colore è saturnia (in inglese)? Could it be chestnut?

Grazie!

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Jul 2, 2005:
Hi Rachel - I saw in my Italian language dictionary that a saturnia is a chestnut-colored nocturnal moth - that's why I thought it might be some shade of chestnut - but I don't think I can use that without confirmation from my client.
Rachel Fell Jul 1, 2005:
Just wondered why you think it may be chestnut - not that I know what else it may be! What item(?) does it refer to/context?

Saturnia

Se guardi il link che ti ho mandato puoi farti un'idea del colore; trattandosi però di un nome di fantasia io lo lascerei così, anche perché non mi pare semplice da descrivere...

chestnut

I feel it would be better to translate it - I have never seen saturnia used as a colour in English (at least as a layperson!)I think you're right about chestnut.

Don\'t know if this helps but Saturnia is an area in Italy renowned for its chestnut trees.
Also, the saturnia night butterfly has chestnut coloured wings!

neutral Alfredo Tutino : I've never seen or heard it in Italian, either!

I found this
http://barefoottile.com/Ceramic-Tiles/Cerdomus/Thermae/
but other websites use it for other colors
http://www.google.com/search?biw=995&hl=en&q="color saturnia...
Since they all seem to use it as a proper noun, I wouldn't translate it

Secondo me il riferimento è a Saturnia, l\'antico paesino toscano famoso per le terme. Lo si desume anche dal fatto che gli altri colori sul sito barefoottile.com hanno nomi di questo tipo: Ischia, Capri, ecc. ecc.

Saturnian chestnut

Just an idea...
It's definitely chestnut but if it's used in an advertising context maybe you've got some "literary freedom"; this could define the chestnut colour... as I said just an idea...
