German term

Nachröte

German to English Medical Medical (general) psychiatric/physical evaluation
I can't find an English term for this, although it is common on the Internet. Does it just mean "redness"?

Beim Bestreichen der Haut kein besonderes Nachröten.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Jonathan, when it comes to the actual meaning of it your answer is identical with mine:

Note from asker:
Thanks, uyuni, but that seems overly specific in this context, since the key point here seems to be the "writing" on the skin. Since the point of the doctor's sentence here is "brushing" the skin does not produce Nachröten, I don't quite see how this would fit.
@Alison: you really have a knack for finding these things! Don't know why I didn't. :-(

Thanks, doc!
agree Alison MacG : Dermographismus ruber - Synonym Roter Dermographismus - Definition Nachröten der Haut nach mechanischer Reizung durch Erregung des Nervensystems der Haut, physiologische Reaktion. http://132.187.10.79/login/n/h/1003_1.htm

Thanks a lot, Alison, for the additional URL and also for convincing Susan :-)

flushing (of the skin)

While this refers to a generalized redness, usually of the face, you may be able to tease something out of a search for this term.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Lirka : that's something else ( it's a specific term in medicine so be careful with it)

reddening/coloring

So whatever they're spreading, coating, smearing, applying to the skin, there is no reddening or coloring.
