I see my confidence has been \"adjusted\". What rubbish! (No offence to agreers intended).
Nearly always Dom = Bischofskirche in my experience. Sometimes it is just used to vary the terminology. Sometimes something has the title Dom but they say \'no longer a Bischofskirche\'. So to Jonathan\'s \'wouldn\'t the author have used ...?\', I have no idea, but I suspect not. Incidentally, I can\'t remember ever seeing the plural of Dom (here it should be dative \'Domen\', although strangely the whole thing looks accusative - was it written by a non-native speaker?)
