Portuguese term (edited): veladoras and ofuscamento

small wax candles and obscurity

As far as veladoras are concerned,see the proof below(the Wikipedia link).It means small wax candles.

As far as ofuscamento is concerned,see the 2nd link.

As far as the overall meaning is concerned,see my solution above.
(candles and obscurity)
Peer comment(s):

disagree Donald Scott Alexander : The translations given here are correct only in a general context - not in the field of Physics, which requires specialized English terminology for these terms. And in the question's context, 'veladora' is an ADJECTIVE modifying 'luminancia', not a noun!

candle luminance/obscurity

Acho que o termo é esse de acordo coma as pesquisas que eu fiz...

luminancia tem a ver com a intensidade luminosa refletida por uma fonte luminosa como uma vela. Acho que é isso aí...
Peer comment(s):

disagree Donald Scott Alexander : I think it's "velador" < "velar" = "to veil" (not "vela" = "candle"). For example, at night when another car's headlights are coming at you, their "luminance" (glare) "veils" your view (blocks your view).
