Sorry - not much context available for confidentiality reasons! I can, however, tell you that this features in a press release and refers to an event held on the day before a trade show. As such it's a "preview event" - and I might well settle for that even though it doesn't get across the "night-before" aspect. Any ideas?
TIA!

night-before preview event
Now a bona fide fund-raising blockbuster — this year's event sold 13,000 tickets and raised $2.7 million — the auto show's ***night-before preview event*** still capitalizes on auto-fan fervor. But organizers of the trade-show-floor fête also understand that success depends on generating big attendance numbers.

Note from asker:
Thanks Chetan. As it turns out, your example is very relevant! But I'm just not sure if "night-before" is the right register for the sober press release I'm working on. |
