Trebate biti svjesni da puske koje su se tada koristile su bile daleko nesavrsenije nego bilo koje modernije puske. Uzmimo na primjer da su danasnje puske radjene masinski sa daleko vecom tacnoscu nego, recimo, 1800, kada su *malte ne sve* radjene u vecim kovacnicama. [Asterisks are mine.]

Discussion

Aleksandar Medić Jan 11, 2008:
But the source isn't at all a Croatian site. It's a Serbian IT Internet forum. Therefore, there's no reason you should assume the text is in Croatian.
Dubravka Hrastovec Jan 11, 2008:
I also agree with Mark Daniels (see below).
I H Jan 11, 2008:
Agree with Dubravka; and even when heard in some local variants it is a 'Serbianism' (in Croatian: serbizam).

No, Paul, in standard Croatian we don't. You might hear it in some local variants but not in standard language.
I agree with Aleksandar.
Aleksandar Medić Jan 10, 2008:
This text is in Serbian (ijekavian variant), not Croatian. Croatian text would have „strojno“ instead of „mašinski“ and „točnošću“ instead of „tačnošću“. Also, „maltene“ is written as one word. The author's knowledge of grammar isn't perfect.

agree Mark Daniels : Right, or maybe "just about all of them", as "maltene" is quite colloquial.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Lots of agreement and it fits the context well. Unless I hear otherwise, I'll assume that Croats use this expression the same way Serbs do."
