Probing is a technique used in archeology to determine where to dig for the artifacts. This is most often used in CRM, when they are under a time restraint. They use probing to determine where they "need" to dig with out digging up the entire area.

Using “rediscovered” documents found at the National Archives, archaeologists relocated the site of the Little White Salmon Ranger Station in 2004. No structures remain, but a range of subsurface artifact material was identified in preliminary probing.

Early archeological probing had found nothing. However, one archeologist, William Kelso, believed that it was simple a matter of his predecessors having failed to use their shovels in the right place.

Archaeologists soon realized this vessel was too large to be a caravel. The probing survey traced ship remains for a length of 80 feet (24.4 meters).

Kao što je primetila i koleginica Mira, moguće je da "asondažni" ima značenje negacije: "bez sondiranja". U tom slučaju bi bilo možda "non-probing survey". Pretpostavljam da ovde nije negacija, po analogiji sa sanacija - asanacija, ali predlažem da to ipak proverite sa klijentom.
