Hello, I'm getting an error message saying that "Microsoft Word is not available" when I try to use spell checking. I do in fact have MS Word 365 installed and it was working with MemoQ's spell check yesterday. Any ideas why it has stopped working? I'm using MemoQ 9.8.

Method 1: - In MS Word, go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Trusted Locations - Select "Add new location", then browse to C:\[Your user path]\AppData\Roaming - Add the memoQ folder as trusted location
If that doesn't work,
Method 2: - In memoQ (I use 9.12), go to Options > Spelling and Grammar - Select your language, then "hunspell" instead of "MS Word" in both buttons below
Method 2 is less preferable because you're using a different dictionary, so your settings are not synced between Word and memoQ as to words to be ignored. ▲ Collapse

memoQ does not save words in the custom dictionary of Microsoft Word

You have to define your own exception dictionaries in memoQ, and that's where false positives are added during spell checking. Sure enough, when I open the translated document in Word, it has underlined as incorrect the same words for which I pressed the "Add" button a few minutes earlier in memoQ.

Method 1 works, I would never have figured that out on my own. Thanks for the tip!

Right, I think it's only unidirectional, i.e., not a full reciprocal sync:
- memoQ *does* recognize what you mark as acceptable in Word,
- Word *does not* recognize what you mark as acceptable in memoQ.

Me neither. Found it on some forum a few weeks ago when I experienced the same issue...

Doesn't work for me
Jan 25
Hmmm, I was able to follow all the instructions, but it still tells me that Microsoft Word is not available. This is my first time using memoq on a new computer. Any other suggestions?
