Some years ago, there used to be a Lithuanian Translators' Association, but it was a somewhat cliquish organisation with no impact whatsoever on the fairly numerous community of Lithuanian translators.
Now, there's the Lithuanian Translators' Guild, but - I hope they will excuse me for saying so - it looks very few know of its existence, even if a couple of years ago they prepared the Draft Law on Sworn Transla... See more ... but does such an organisation exist in the first place?

The only active translators' organisation that I know of at present is the Association of Lithuanian Literary Translators. The link below is to a very short English version of their website:

However, literary translation is a specific and not too representative field.

goes also for Latvia. There exists something like you named in Latvia too, I haven't had any contact with them myself, but other ProZeans (reputable ones) have told that the only purpose of that organisation is to extract EUR 14 yearly members' fee from translators who had believed it worth joining that entity..

In recent years, the number of Lithuanian people living and working in Ireland has increased greatly, and there are now more than 70,000 to 80,000 -- the exact number being unknown. As a result, there are more opportunities for translators and interpreters, mainly between Lithuanian and English and vice versa, but also occasionally between Lithuanian and Irish, and vice versa. Almost 100 % of the Lithuanian-English translation and interpretation done in Ireland is by native Lithuanians living here, but there is a very small number of Irish people who have learned Lithuanian. One of our Irish colleagues learned Lithuanian in the United States, and he has lectured (in the Irish language) on Lithuanian linguistic history !
Some of the Lithuanian translators and interpreters are members of the Irish Translators and Interpreters Association (ITIA), which is the professional body representing translators and interpreters in Ireland.
We have two Lithuanian language newspapers in Ireland, a very lively and active Lithuanian Irish Business Information Network (LIBIN), some 80 shops selling Lithuanian food, and a small but growing number of Lithuanian businesses. Our National Census, which will be held in 2 days time (on 23 April) has census forms available in Lithuanian.
