PRESIDEN REPUBLIK INDONESIA,
Menimbang : bahwa untuk melaksanakan ketentuan Pasal 21 ayat (1) Undang-Undang Nomor 26 Tahun 2007 tentang Penataan Ruang dan ketentuan Pasal 123 ayat (4) Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 26 Tahun 2008 tentang Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah Nasional, perlu menetapkan Peraturan Presiden tentang Rencana Tata Ruang Pulau Sumatera;
Mengingat : 1. Pasal 4 ayat (1) Undang-Undang Dasar Negara Republik Indonesia Tahun 1945;
2. Undang-Undang Nomor 32 Tahun 2004 tentang Pemerintahan Daerah (Lembaran Negara Republik Indonesia Tahun 2004 Nomor 125, Tambahan Lembaran Negara Republik Indonesia Nomor 4437), sebagaimana telah beberapa kali diubah, terakhir dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 12 Tahun 2008 (Lembaran Negara Republik Indonesia Tahun 2008 Nomor 59, Tambahan Lembaran Negara Republik Indonesia Nomor 4844);

BAB I KETENTUAN UMUM
Bagian Kesatu Pengertian
Pasal 1
Dalam Peraturan Presiden ini yang dimaksud dengan:
1. Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah Nasional yang selanjutnya disebut RTRWN adalah arahan kebijakan dan strategi pemanfaatan ruang wilayah negara.

BY THE GRACE OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD
PRESIDENT OF REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA,
Considering : that to implement the provision of Article 21 paragraph (1) Law Number 26 Year 2007 regarding the Spatial Plan and the provision of Article 123 paragraph (4) Government Regulation Number 26 Year 2008 on National Spatial Plan, it shall be necessary to enact a Decree of President on the Spatial Plan of Sumatera Island;
Referring to in : 1. Article 4 paragraph (1) the 1945 Constitution of Republic of Indonesia;
