Experience
Years of experience: 2. Registered at ProZ.com: Mar 2006.
During my professional activity (14 years as Sales Assistant in a chemical US company), I used to translate commercial and chemical documents to various colleagues and customers; that's why, during my maternity leave, I entered in contact with some Italian agencies and started as a freelance translator since end of 2004. My areas are mostly commercial documents (supply agreements, contracts, quotes, commercial correspondence, Confidential agreements, company's presentation) and chemical documents (Data Sheets, MSDS, activitation procedures, technical brochures and articles, manufacturing procedures, patents). As a freelancer, I acquired experience in user's manuals related to chemical and electronic technical devices, legal advices, reviews..
I'm also interested in pharmacology: my husband is a researcher in that field and I'm frequently helping him in the translation/review of his articles. Free of charge, of course, in his case.
Degree in Modern Languages at the University of Bologna (specializing in linguistics).
11 exams passed at the University of Parma in Economics and Commerce.
After various temp jobs, I've been working for 14 years in a chemical U.S. company, based in Italy, leader in surface and engineered materials. I was a Sales Assistant dealing with European (and in the past also South American) markets.
I studied English, French and German, but I mostly used the first two languages during my job.
I used to translate FR > EN and viceversa for our customers, mostly in commercial and technical documents, even if for agencies I usually translate from EN, FR to my native language, IT.
