Urgent!!!!! Gmail - can't copy and paste into composed message

I cannot copy and paste from a Word doc into a message composed in Gmail, why not?

Try pasting with ctrl+v. It worked for me.

I would try CTRL-C, CTRL-V to copy and paste the content. If this still doesn't work, then your operating system might be in unstable condition. In such a case, I would restart my computer.

I hardly know any keyboard shortcuts...and it never occurred to me:-)
