Texte source - anglais Peer tutoring is a student-centred activity, but it does not begin with the student—it begins with the teacher modelling reflective knowledge-building and showing students how to monitor their own understanding, correct misunderstandings, and elaborate on known materials. Students then need their own space in which to work through sessions at their own pace. Peer tutoring works because both the tutor and tutored are actively rethinking, reorganising, and reflecting on materials, acting as their own and each others’ teacher. They are able to ask questions of each other and provide more elaborative and metacognitive responses to their questions.
