Bio

Bonjour et bienvenue,

As a lifelong Francophile, I am thrilled to say that I have been able to successfully work in a field that feeds my passion for language and helps clients reach their translation goals effectively.

My academic foundation is solid: I hold a BA in French from the Univ. of Washington, including one year's study at the Univ. de Montpellier, as well as the DALF/C2 and the DFP Affaires II from the Univ. de Bordeaux, where I completed the degree preparation courses with honors during a four-year stay in Southwest France. All study in France included translation coursework.

A rich array of clients and tasks make up my professional experience: Some of my most memorable work includes wine industry materials, restaurant menus, accounting documents, hotel Web sites, administrative forms and review of professional translations for accuracy. I currently consult French residents of San Francisco on various expatriate issues, ranging from health care claims to property management. I also head up the French language service portion of a translation Web site, establishing credential exams and directly translating marketing copy.

Setting me apart is my pure love for the French language and for the art of communicating the same ideas in English. I always love a challenge, especially if it means a better experience for the client.

I am currently living temporarily on Guam, which is in a time zone (GMT plus 10) that has proven to be extremely useful for quick turn-around. I am happy to see what I can do for your project!

Merci!
