... but mainly because the second quarter incorporates the Easter holidays and lots of bank holidays.

But about the same as Q2 2010, which is maybe a more logical comparison. Wintertime in Norway fits nice to sit inside and work In the springtime it's hard not to be tempted to go out and work in the garden...

.... but as others have said it's not really a valid comparison. Far better to compare with the same period last year which shows me considerably up, despite having taken my summer holiday early this year and had lots of bank holidays, conferences and days off for one reason or another.

I've had a very good year so far. The first quarter was really good and the second quarter was even better
slightly down... | Jul 11, 2011 |
But it not a relevant comparison for me as I had several visitors who stayed for weeks during Q2 and whom I was entertaining, I also travelled extensively myself in Q2 and did lots of other work. I epect Q3 to be at least as good as Q1.
about the same | Jul 11, 2011 |
but slightly better...a slow period in may where I think last year was busier at the same time.

...but it normally is, probably because of the holidays. Normally (5-year average) my quarters go: 1st - slightly above average 2nd - slightly below average 3rd - well below average 4th - well above average However, the second quarter was up from 2010 which is what really matters.

Can't complain. 1st quarter was quite good compared with previous 2 years and 2nd was 20% up on that. Which reminds me, I need to do my VAT return again this week...

and in holidays. Which means that Q2 is always worse than Q1. Therefore, I never compare consecutive quarters, but instead the same quarters over several years. In which case, Q2-2011 was better than Q2-2010, and, due to a family issue last year, I expect the present Q3 to be much better than last year.

This year has been oddly steady for me in general, unlike the usual pattern of feast or famine. I hope it lasts, it does make scheduling a normal work day a lot easier. Overall income is pretty comparible to last year.
Up by US$ 5.00! | Jul 13, 2011 |
I estimated when I answered the question, then did the math after seeing all the comments about holidays, etc. There was only $5 difference.

260% of Q1, which was the worst in 17 years or so.
