Portuguese term

puran t4 comprimido 12,5 mcg

Portuguese to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals Medicine / Tablets
Puran T4 Comprimida 12,5mcg
12 embalagens c/ 30 comprimidos
Tomar 1 comprimido 1 vez ao dia.

dúvida simples, Puran é a marca no Brasil, mantém o nome na tradução ou substitui pelo "equivalente" nos EUA?
E mantém-se em mcg ou outra unidade?

Jun 4, 2020 21:22: Rafael Sousa Brazlate changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (3): Isadora Vital, Julio Cinquina, Rafael Sousa Brazlate

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Levothyroxine 12.5 mg tablet

I would use the generic name. If the client wants a brand name then it should be localised for the specific country which would have to be informed as a comment. Example: Glifage is known as Glucofage in many countries in the world. (I believe that use of the generic name is required by Brazilian law, but not sure about that)

Wikipedia informs that:

Common brand names include Eltroxin, Euthyrox, Eutirox, Letrox, Levaxin, Lévothyrox, Levoxyl, L-thyroxine, Thyrax, and Thyrax Duotab in Europe; Thyrox, Thyronorm in South Asia; Unithroid, Eutirox, Synthroid, and Tirosint in North and South America; and Thyrin and Thyrolar in Bangladesh. There are also numerous generic versions.
