Japanese term

1/10セイカツ

Japanese to English Social Sciences General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters Ecology
1/10のセイカツとは、日本で言えば1955年頃。私たち日本人が戦後の出発点とした時期と同レベルのエネルギー量になります。

It's a text about eco-design, and this paragraph basically says how people should live on one tenth of the resources they are currently using, but I have no idea how to say this, especially since 1/10セイカツ is also the title, so it should be short and catchy...any ideas? Thanks!

Ten Percent Living (or Life/Lifestyle)

It is totally a matter of judgment, but in my opinion 10% is easier to use in a 'catchy' way than 1/10 is. So the idea I came up with was -

'Ten Percent Living'. Or 'Ten Percent Life/Lifestyle'

I'm pretty sure someone can come up with something better than that though....maybe by sticking even less to the original Japanese than I have?

agree Yuko Osugi (X) : "10 % Lifestyle" sounds catchy to me...

agree sigmalanguage : I vote for "ten percent life".

agree Kurt Hammond : I think that any final translation should have "lifestyle" included to capture the spirit of the original.
