When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

titration specifications

The sample was diluted to a concentration of MP at 10% solids by weight. The total amount of equivalents of reactive carboxylic acid were calculated from the titration specifications of the vendor.

Understand what is going on during a titration, what species are present at different
points along the way on titration curves, what the pH at the equivalence points mean,
and whether or not an indicator would work for certain titration specifications.

Peer comment(s):

agree Elif Baykara Narbay : I believe that "specification" is a more pertinent term here.

Thanks.
agree Edith Kelly : but I'm tempted to vote for non-Pro, can be easily found on the Net

titration instructions

I believe that Vorschrift simply means instruction here. Since a titration procedure (instrumental or manual) is quite straightforward, the instructions probably state the indicator and the relevant concentrations of the reactants to be used for the titration of this specific chemical.
Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : This avoids the awkwardness of two words ending in "-ation".

Thank you! I have not considered this but I will remember it for the future.
neutral Herbmione Granger : I agree with the explanation if you switch the terms. In the Chemistry publishing field, procedures give the technical necessities.

Titration protocols

"Protocol" is a favoured term, and especially so if there is any (even tenuous) link to medicine. "Titration methods" would also be possible (less literal, in the sense of, say, standard methods).

BTW, similar to "methods", Linguee has a match for "titration procedures" ( http://www.linguee.de/deutsch-englisch/search?source=auto&qu... )
Peer comment(s):

agree Róbert Hanczkó, Ph.D. : I agree absolutely.

neutral Herbmione Granger : Thanks for the source; I will add it to my answer :) Protocols are standard in Medicine, but I think it is not suitable in this "Applied Chemistry" case.

titration procedures

Based on what I read (from http://www.bio-circle.ch/produkte/reinigen/produkte-a-z/alus... the company will gladly send procedures and curves as standards if the customer (someone qualified to handle chemicals) wants to know the acidity range before applying the product. "Procedures" generally have less detail than "instructions," since they assume the user knows how to do the basics. "Protocols" should only be used for an important sequence of actions. It is neither optional nor flexible, and I don't think that it fits here. Also, "potentiometric titration procedures" has been professionally translated as "potentiometrische Titrationsvorschriften" or vice versa (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/00399140738...

Also, the reference given by @DIV1 (http://www.linguee.de/deutsch-englisch/search?source=auto&qu... although it's not a direct source, supports this translation.
Example sentence:

Potentiometric titration procedures are described for the determination of hydroquinone...

Zur Bestimmung von Hydrochinon... werden potentiometrische Titrationsvorschriften beschrieben.
