Discussion

Debbie Tacium Ladry Apr 22, 2006:
Sounds fine to me, in this context.
PB Trans (asker) Apr 22, 2006:
Question for Debbie et al. Can I write "cell and inner membrane structure" or do I need to repeat the word "membrane" after "cell"?
Helen Genevier Apr 22, 2006:
I'm with Debbie - the term cell wall would be incorrect. As the author wants to mention the fact that omega-3s are also a component of organelle membranes, I don't think you could get much less heavy than Debbie's suggestion.
Debbie Tacium Ladry Apr 21, 2006:
I would avoid writing 'cell wall' (because of its strict association with plant and bacterial cells) even if it's not a medical or scientific document.
PB Trans (asker) Apr 21, 2006:
or structure of membranes and inner cell walls
PB Trans (asker) Apr 21, 2006:
how about "membrane and inner cell wall structure"? This is not a heavy medical document. It's an article on the benefits of omega-3's... prepared by manufacturers of cereal bars.
PB Trans (asker) Apr 21, 2006:
more context refers to the benefits of omega-3 in the human body

cell membrane and interior membrane structure

by 'paroi interne' I'm guessing they mean organelle membranes

thank you Sue! :-)
agree Drmanu49 : and maybe cell wall structure?

Cell wall wouldn't fit since this is about animal cells.

Perhaps if this is just for cereal bar promotion it's best to keep it general: talk of membranes and cell walls may be liable to make consumers rather squeamish?
