French term

délivrance de legs

French to English Law/Patents Law (general) Inheritance
I need a US English translation for this please.

No guesses, I need the term actually used in the US. The deed deals with the administration of a specific bequest in a will.

Le présent acte a pour objet la délivrance de legs limitée aux biens mobiliers ci-après par Monsieur xxx au profit de Monsieur yyy , ainsi que la liquidation et le partage de la succession de Madame zzz

writeaway May 2, 2016:
I agree with Phil After all, if the UK and US differences were really significant, then surely the client/agency would have sought a USA legal specialist.

@ Phil I just thought there may be a specific term used in the USA - possibly containing the word "issuance" which we would not use "over here"

There's no set term for this. You can translate it however you like, within reason.

(AmE + BrE) distribution of testamentary gift (devise of land or legacy/bequest of chattels)

Same distinction in the US of devise - gift of real property made by will - Restatement, Property §12 (1), barrons US law dictionary.

NB gift would catch a *leasehold* as a chattel real in E&W and real chattel in US!. But informed comments are earnestly invited.
Peer comment(s):

agree Ben Gaia : "bequest" avoids the confusion caused by the word "estate"

Translation below

payment of legacy/transfer of estate

As said in the attachment, legacy in the US refers to money and chattel, whereas estate in the US refers to real property
