QC for an antibiotic
I would like to check whether ion benzoïque is the same as benzoate. I am a bit confused because my ST doc uses both.
On a list of routine QC tests for an antiobiotic, one identification test is "ion benzoïque pas CLHP" (specification = positive) and further down, in the Tests section, one of them is "Benzoate de sodium par CLHP" (specification = 0.090 à 0.110% m/m). Benzoate de sodium is one of the ingredients (preservative) but the flavouring also contains aldéhyde benzoïque.

I think the confusion in your text is probably due to the difference in naming for the free acid (benzoic) and and salt (benzoate). It should be benzoate everywhere in the French I think, though I'll defer to a French native opinion on that.
