French term

CLM 1

French to English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
from a birth certificate:

fonctionnaire municipale délégué dans les fonctions d'etat-civil par le Maire du quatorzième
arrondissement de Paris, CLM 1.

The only thing I've been able to find so far that looks like it might fit is "Congé de Longue Maladie". [extended sick leave].

Yes, I was thinking the same thing, Katsy. Yes, it would be interesting to see what the "mairie" would say. This is really a puzzling one. Thanks for checking different possibilities. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the clarification Scott. Yes, the 1 does seem to go against it being initials, unfortunately. Also why would the fonctionnaire be present if she was on congé de longue maladie? I note she is "délégué dans les fonctions..." which implies that she belongs to another department usually... Without the slightest shred of evidence, I was wondering if it might be the abbreviation of the office where she works... however I have looked up Collectivité Locale, Cabinet de ...found nothing with an M after it. There is "cabinet du maire", but that would not explain the L.
One almost wants to telephone the mairie du 14e to find out!!

appears to be the "fonctionnaire" Thanks for the replies. It appears to be the "fonctionnaire", Katsy. Alison, thank you for the link. I'm wondering about the "1" though. I found this link about "congé de longue maladie": https://www.cdc.retraites.fr/portail/spip.php?page=article&i...

who is this? Is this the mother? the 'fonctionnaire' who is recording the birth? If the latter, difficult to imagine that she would be "en congé maladie"......
