orto(-)xylyl
The compound is called 'orto(-)xylen' in Swedish. I have not found the name of the radical on the internet, but I guess it should be ortoxylyl, by analogy with other radicals, such as 'metyl', 'fenyl' etc. Possibly spelt 'orto-xylyl'

"ortoxylen" and "ortoxylyl" are two different things - the former is a chemical compound and the latter, the radical that derives from it. The name of the radical is generally formed by attaching the ending -yl to the root of the compound name.

Discussion
To micawber_7: Do you mean it should be called ortoxylyl also in Sweden, or should it be called ortoxylen? There are other similar compounds ending with -yl, e.g. phenyl xylyl ethane, should it be called fenyl-xylyl-etan, or fenyl-xylen-etan? And isopropyl, should it be called isopropen in Sweden, or is it a different compound?
