Так, n-м децилем называется такая величина, ниже которой будут лежать 10n% значений рассматриваемой переменной.
Таким образом, вторым децилем является такая величина, ниже которой будут лежать 20% наблюдений. Пятый дециль является медианой.

In descriptive statistics, a decile is any of the 9 values that divide the sorted data into 10 equal parts, so that each part represents 1/10th of the sample or population. Thus:
The 1st decile cuts off lowest 10% of data, i. e., the 10th percentile.
The 5th decile cuts off lowest 50% of data, i. e., the 50th percentile, 2nd quartile, or median.
The 9th decile cuts off lowest 90% of data, i. e., the 90th percentile.
See Fisher's method for an example.
