As to the relation between the liability of legal persons and that of their representative, the Court stated its conviction that "legal persons are the entities that commit the bigger and more serious violation of values ... the mere sanctioning of their organs or representatives without the corresponding sanctioning of the legal person itself would lead to a preferential treatment of the latter compared to the former".
