I already know the meaning of the idiom but I never heard or read someone say in Arabic:غرز عودة أو قصبة في عين فلان and I was just wondering if there is an idiom in Arabic that would use the same terms. Thanks

This is an idoim 'to poke a stick in the eye of' is an idiom. It can be used in several situations. For example: Why poke a stick in somebody's eye if you don't have to? which means: to hurt/criticize someone. There is also an expression that goes "Well, it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick." It is used when something isn't great, but it isn't bad.
