Besides, my concern with lucy's "OK, I found it" post was the decimal point; as far as I know, the decimal comma is not used in English. ;-)

Porteur is perhaps more general than "vehicle" which might imply that it runs on wheels, though "vehicle" does translate directly from the Latin as "porteur". In the context of a hydraulic rock hammer/drill, it's more likely to be a tracked vehicle.
I would doubt that the hammer itself is 7.5 T, but your document should give more clues. The breaking capacity is generally given in terms of energy per blow (joules) rather than a mass.

7.5 tonnes is a break-point between "small" and "large" trucks, so there is some advantage in the "porteur" being less than 7.5 T. If the vehicle has wheels and an engine (as most do), "autoporté" seems a bit redundant.

I would say what they mean is that this rock breaker hammer thingy is mounted on a truck chassis of < 7.5 tons.
