they're all OK I think just about any of these answers will do. In support of my own proposition ("appropriate"), the process usually includes seeing how (and how quickly) new users are able to apply the thing to their own situation. Most of these "tools" are "frameworks" in the form of a series of questions/proposed answers. Users select the answers that best fit their situation and then press Enter, and bingo !!! they get their assessment ("diagnosis").
The real question here is whether they are testing the tool or helping the user....

How do you "observe familiarization"? The idea isobserving how one handles this tool, whether physical or not, so you yourself can learn to do it.

tool It's definitely a software package, programme, etc., - physical tools do not have "contents" and diagnoses of environmental risks, etc., are usually complex schemes. Familiarization would be better than handling in such a case.

OK, that helps! So do I take it therefore that we are not talking about some kind of physical implement, but rather, some system like a piece of computer software or an analysis questionnaire, etc.?

Hello and sorry for the lack of context. This document is a presentation on an environmental company that wishes to create a biodiversity diagnostic tool to evaluate what can be done to update sites that may be deleterious to biodiversity... I hope it helps!
