WITH OVER 1.7M WORDS OF TRANSLATED, PROOFREAD AND TESTED CONTENT, LOCSMITH IS YOUR ONE-STOP
SHOP FOR GAME-RELATED LOCALISATION NEEDS!

With over three years of in-house industry experience handling some of the bestselling video game franchises, an up-to-date knowledge of 1st-party naming conventions and compliance testing procedures (TRC and TCR), an on-hands testing experience with both Xbox 1 and PlayStation 4 test kits, LQA and CAT tools expertise (MemoQ- and SDL Trados-certified), a B.A. in Applied Linguistics, and most of all, a lifetime as a gaming buff, I am here to ensure that your title is as immersive and bug-proof as it deserves to be.

I pride myself in providing high standard of work and customer-tailored solutions at no-nonsense rates. While working primarily on an independent basis, I am comfortable coping with large word counts and meeting strict deadlines, owing to a close-knit cooperation with several tried and tested industry vets. Fundamentally, however, I am a gamer at heart, who cut his teeth jumping into haystacks from ridiculous heights,
making it alive out of the cow level, and leaving no one behind the Omega 4 relay (kudos if you got the references).

LOCSMITH'S SERVICES

The experience gained whilst working on the inside of game production and translation industry provided me with a nuanced knowledge of the localisation workflow across all its phases: from pre-production, scheduling, and localisation kit creation, to dev testing, translation, linguistic QA, and 1st‑party submission. My rate typically encompasses the following steps:
  • Translation, adaptation, proofreading for video games (e.g. subtitles, dialogues, user interface, tutorials, editors, manuals, official guides, rich presence and achievements, websites, newsletters, marketing collaterals, warranties, EULAs);
  • Terminology extraction, translation memory and termbase compilation;
  • Translation quality assurance utilising dedicated software in order to assure formatting, code, glossary, number and punctuation consistency;
  • Query support  full use and active screening of all channels of communication with PM and end-client to ensure high quality output;
  • Familiarisation phase on testing branch / special builds (free under 2 hours);
The aforementioned processes do not exhaust all of the provided services. Here are a few more ways, in which I can help to bring extra value to your localisation:
  • Localisation testing with adherence to localisation-specific compliance procedures (TRC, TCR) and platform-related terminology (on per hour basis);
  • Ongoing support reviewing and implementing testing suggestions to ensure unity of voice and brand identity

WHAT OTHERS HAD TO SAY ABOUT MY SERVICE:

Bart has met and exceeded our demands by being able to not only apply his language skills, but also to adapt these to very specific situations and expectations. He is able to respect all the given deadlines and perform at a good level even when the time allotted for his tasks may seem insufficient. — Radu Barbosa, Associate Lead QC Localisation at Ubisoft

Bart has been always helpful and available for us at Bohemia Interactive, helping promptly even beyond the call of duty. I would recommend him any time. — Vojtech Schubert, Associate Producer at Bohemia Interactive

Thank you for your hard work and amazing translation – many players already own the game in Poland and nobody complains – we have only positive reviews! — Filip Kraucher, Producer at FiolaSoft Studios

We have worked together on translation tasks in the field of gaming and commend his talents. Bartosz has good communication skills and delivers projects on time and to the best of his ability, respecting all instructions and guidelines. We look forward to continuing this relationship. — Zoi Vitsentzou, Head of Localisation at MO Group International

His knowledge of game mechanics, special mechanics and monetization in the F2P gaming market convinced me that he always takes a look across the border and he knows that it takes more than to simply translate. — Markus Schoof, Community Manager at Activision

To this day, Bartosz has carried out several dozen translations in PL>EN and EN>PL pairs. He proved to be an ambitious and able individual, often realizing difficult - in terms of terminology - translations. His technical translations are of particular note, receiving on each occasion positive feedback from our clients. — Jacek Gurgul, Owner at Parola Translation Agency
