Despite a mind-boggling number of choices I don't see the one that would correspond to my answer which would be "more projects, more volume discounting the one huge project I did in 2018" (if we're comparing 2018 to 2019).

Fewer projects, larger volume Dec 30, 2019

Off the top of my head, I’d say 2019 has been business as usual, but after having looked at my files it seems that this year I’ve done fewer projects but a larger volume.

Don't know Dec 30, 2019

As long as the jobs keep coming in, I'm usually too busy actually working to analyse this type of thing. I work mostly with direct clients and for the past few years things have been more or less steady. Over the past year I've had less work from one small market research company I collaborate with, but that is due to the situation in their line of business, and there is usually something else for me to be doing instead when they aren't around.

Here's to a Happy New Year in 2020!

UNHEALTHY 2019 Dec 30, 2019

I started not being well in March last, when I dared having an official week off after years and years! In April (Pesach) I was even hospitalised for half a day for a minor breathing issue when in Naples, it all started with a cold-allergy-some stress perhaps.

I know, it sounds ridiculous..... "I didn't mean to hurt you, I am sorry that I made you cry..... "

The summer, too, brought some weakness. I did not fully recover until Autumn. By then, a large agency I worked with had stopped giving me serious projects (worth, on average, a few hundred euros per month in the last two years) and only forwarded single pages for a few euros each; or even nothing. Possibly the quality of my output had also suffered a lot.

Minor regular contacts were also rather unsatisfactory, below survival.

A couple of big projects until December provided food, but not much more.

Overall, my balance is now a lot of arrears of taxes and everything, and I am the breadwinner here.

I do hope in a great 2020.

Happy New Year.

More Projects, Larger Volume Dec 30, 2019

I'm currently at work on a second book translation, out of a series of at least 30 that I will do for a Spanish author who writes best-sellers (historical romances).

Large projects, about the same Dec 31, 2019

If I use 15,000 words or more as the criterion for "large," my percentage of large projects has remained steady over the last five or so years. Many are around 50,000 words, and some, much larger than that.

There has been a trend for more contacts by end clients but that has been going on for a number of years now. End clients have become Internet savvy.
