Mechanism of action
Rosuvastatin is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme that converts 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor for cholesterol. The primary site of action of rosuvastatin is the liver, the target organ for cholesterol lowering.
Rosuvastatin increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell-surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles.
Pharmacodynamic effects
Crestor reduces elevated LDL-cholesterol, total cholesterol and triglycerides and increases HDL-cholesterol. It also lowers ApoB, nonHDL-C, VLDL-C, VLDL-TG and increases ApoA-I (see Table 1). Crestor also lowers the LDL-C/HDL-C, total C/HDL-C and nonHDL-C/HDL-C and the ApoB/ApoA-I ratios.
A therapeutic effect is obtained within 1 week following treatment initiation and 90% of maximum response is achieved in 2 weeks. The maximum response is usually achieved by 4 weeks and is maintained after that.
Clinical efficacy
Crestor is effective in adults with hypercholesterolaemia, with and without hypertriglyceridaemia, regardless of race, sex, or age and in special populations such as diabetics, or patients with familial hypercholesterolaemia.
From pooled phase III data, Crestor has been shown to be effective at treating the majority of patients with type IIa and IIb hypercholesterolaemia (mean baseline LDL-C about 4.8 mmol/l) to recognised European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS; 1998) guideline targets; about 80% of patients treated with 10 mg reached the EAS targets for LDL-C levels (

IN WHAT CASE TO USE THIS MEDICAMENT
This medication is indicated in the treatment of certain infections of sensitive germs (bacteria, parasites).
ATTENTION!
In which case never use this medication
- This medication should never be used in the following cases:
• allergy to medications from the imidazoles family (family of antibiotics belonging to the metronidazole),
• intolerance or allergy to gluten, because of the presence of wheat starch (gluten)
- This medication may not be used generally in association with disulfiram or alcohol (alcohol drinks, medications containing alcohol).
IN CASE OF DOUBT, IT IS NECESSARY TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST
Special Attention
- Taking alcoholic drinks during this treatment is not recommended because of the risk of reaction of the type of blurring of vision, hotness, vomiting, accelerated heart rate.
- You should stop treatment and consult a doctor in case of appearing incordination of voluntary movements, vertigo or confusion.
- Take care that this tablet is contraindicated in infants after 6 years as they may stifle and gag.
Precautions of Usage
- In case of previous blood problems, treatment with a strong dose and/or prolonged treatment, your doctor may require to regularly checking by blood examination your blood cell count.
- In case of prolonged treatment, it is important to report to your doctor in case of the occurrence of nervous troubles (swarming, difficulty of movement coordination, vertigo, convulsions).

Medical Interactions and other interactions
IN ORDER TO AVOID INTERACTIONS AMONG MANY MEDICATIONS, and especially disulfiram and alcohol, YOU SHOULD REPORT SYSTEMATICALLY ALL OTHER CURRENT TREATMENTS TO YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST.
Taking this medication may disturb the results of certain laboratory examinations (treponema test); metronidazole may affect to falsely make positive Nelson Test.
Pregnancy – Lactation
In case of need, this medication may be taken during pregnancy. You should then ask advice of your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication.
Avoid lactation while taking this medication.

Drivers and users of machines
Attention is drawn, notably with vehicle drivers and machine users to the risk of vertigo, confusion, hallucinations or convulsions attached to using this medication.

HOW TO USE THIS MEDICATION
Dosage
This medication is only for adults and children above six years. With children less than six years, there are more adapted pharmaceutical forms.
The dosage depends on the age of therapeutic indication.
As a guideline, the usual dosage is:
- to the adults: from 0.50 gm/day to 1.5 gm/day,
- to infants: 375 mg/day to 20-40 mg/day.
In certain cases, your partner should be imperatively treated, whether or not there are clinical signs.
IN ALL CASES FOLLOW THE ORDERS OF YOUR DOCTOR.
Mode and track of administration
Orally
Swallow the tablet with water.
Frequency and the moment in which the medicament should be administered
2 to 3 times a day according to the indications.
Duration of treatment
To be effective, this antibiotic should be used regularly at the doses prescribed and also as long as your doctor will advise you.
The disappearance of fever or all other symptoms does not indicate that you are cured. The eventual feeling of fatigue is not due to antibiotic treatment but to the infection itself. Reducing or suspending your treatment will have no effect on this feeling and will retard your cure.
In particular cases: The duration of treatment from lambliasis (parasite infection) and certain vaginites (vaginal infection) is for 10 days.
Behavior in case of over dosage
In case of vomiting, difficulty of movement coordination, disorientation, consult your doctor. He may prescribe a treatment for you.
UNDESIRABLE AND INCONVENIENT EFFECTS
Like all active products, this medication may cause more or less inconvenient effects:
- Digestive Manifestations
• Nausea, vomiting, epigastric cramps, diarrhea.
• Inflammation of the tongue with a sensation of dry mouth, inflammation of the mouth, metallic taste in the mouth, loss of appetite;
• Exceptionally, cases of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) reversible upon discontinuation of treatment.
- Manifestations on the level of skin and mucous membranes
• Hot flushes with reddened face, itchings, eruptions on the skin sometimes accompanied by fever.
• Urticaria (cutaneous eruption similar to that provoked by a nettle), sudden swelling of the face and the neck of allergic origin (Quinkle edema)
Exceptionally shock of allergic origin.
- Nervous manifestations:
• Headache
• Nerve damage of organs
• Convulsions, vertigo, in coordination of voluntary movements.
- Psychological troubles
• Confusion, hallucinations.
- Blood troubles
• Very rare cases of abnormal count of WBC's or platelets in the blood.
- Liver Manifestations
• Very rare cases of reversible hepatic balance anomalies and hepatitis due to the obstruction of biliary canals.
- Others
• Brown-red Coloration of urine due to the medication.
TELL YOUR DOCTOR OR YOUR PHARMACIST ALL UNDESIRABLE AND INCONVENIENT EFFECTS THAT MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN MENTIONED IN THIS PAMPHLET.
CONSERVATION
NEVER EXCEED THE DEADLINE FOR USE AS WRITTEN ON THE OUTER PACKAGE.
Antibiotics are effective to combat bacterial infections. They are never effective against viral infections.
Again your doctor chose to prescribe this antibiotic to you because it is precisely for your case and for your actual disease.
Bacteria have the capacity to survive or reproduce despite the action of an antibiotic. This phenomenon is called resistance: It makes certain antibiotic treatments inactive. The resistance occurs due to the abusive or inappropriate usage of antibiotics.
You risk favoring the appearance of resistant bacteria and so delay your cure and also render this medication inactive if you do not respect:
- the dose taken
- timing of taking
- duration of treatment
Consequently to keep the efficacy of this medication:
1) Don’t use an antibiotic other than that prescribed to you by your doctor.
2) Strictly respect your instructions / orders
3) Do not reuse an antibiotic without medical prescription even if you think it fights against an apparently similar disease.
4) Never give your antibiotic to another person as it may not be adapted to his disease.
5) Once your treatment is finished give to your pharmacist all your medicament al the remaining bottles for a correct appropriate destruction of this medicine.

دواعي استعمال هذا الدواء
يُستخدم هذا الدواء في علاج بعض حالات عدوى الجراثيم الحساسة (البكتريا، الطفيليات).
انتبه!
موانع استعمال هذا الدواء
- يجب عدم استخدام هذا الدواء في الحالات التالية:
• الحساسية للأـدوية من عائلة الإميدازولات (عائلة المضادات الحيوية التي تنتمي إلى الميترونيدازول)،
• عدم تحمل الجلوتين أو الحساسية منه بسبب وجود نشا القمح (الجلوتين)
يجب عدم استخدام هذا الدواء بصفة عامة مع ديسولفيرام أو الكحول (المشروبات الكحولية، الأدوية التي تحتوي على الكحول).
في حالة الشك، يجب استشارة طبيبك أو الصيدلي
اهتمام خاص
- لا يوصى بتناول المشروبات الكحولية أثناء تناول هذا الدواء لوجود خطورة استجابات مثل عدم وضوح الرؤية، الحرارة، القيء وتسارع دقات القلب.
- يجب عليك إيقاف هذا العلاج واستشارة طبيب في حالة ظهور عدم تناسق في الحركات الطوعية، أو الدوار أو الارتباك.
- انتبه إلى حقيقة أنه يُمنع إعطاء هذه الأقراص للأطفال بعد سن السادسة حيث قد يحدث لهم اختناق أو هفوة.
احتياطات الاستخدام
- في حالة وجود مشاكل سابقة بالدم، أو العلاج باستخدام جرعات كبيرة و/أو العلاج الممتد، قد يطلب طبيبك فحص عدد خلايا الدم بانتظام من خلال اختبارات الدم.
- في حالة العلاج الممتد، يكون من المهم إبلاغ طبيبك في حالة ظهور مشاكل عصبية (انْثِيال، صعوبة تنسيق الحركة، دوار، تشنجات)
في حالة الشك، لا تتردد في استشارة طبيبك أو الصيدلي.
التفاعلات الطبية والتفاعلات الأخرى
بهدف تجنب التفاعلات بين العديد من الأدوية، وعلى وجه التحديد مع الديسولفيرام والكحول، يجب إبلاغ طبيبك أو الصيدلي بكافة الأدوية الحالية الأخرى بطريقة منهجية.
قد يعمل تناول هذا الدواء على تغيير نتائج بعض الاختبارات المعملية (اختبار اللولبية)؛ قد يعمل الميترونيدازول على إفساد النتيجة الموجبة لاختبار نيلسون.
الحمل والرضاعة
عند الضرورة، يمكنكِ تناول هذا الدواء أثناء الحمل. يجب عليكِ حينئذ طلب الاستشارة من طبيبك أو الصيدلي قبل تناول هذا الدواء.
تجنبي الرضاعة أثناء تناولكِ لهذا الدواء.
وبصفة عامة، يجب عليك دائما استشارة طبيبك أو الصيدلي قبل تناول أية أدوية أثناء الحمل والرضاعة.
السائقون ومستخدمو الماكينات
يجب إعطاء اهتمام لخطورة حدوث دوار، أو ارتباك، أو هلوسة أو تشنجات مصاحبة لاستخدام هذا الدواء لا سيما مع سائقي المركبات ومستخدمي الماكينات.

كيفية استخدام هذا الدواء
الجرعة
هذا الدواء مخصص فقط للبالغين والأطفال فوق سن ست سنوات. هناك أشكال دوائية أكثر تكيفا للأطفال أقل من ست سنوات.
تعتمد الجرعة على سن دواعي الاستعمال العلاجية.
لغرض الإرشاد، فإن الجرعة المعتادة هي:
- للبالغين: من 0.5 جرام/يوم إلى 1.5 جرام/يوم،
- للأطفال: 375مليجرام/يوم إلى 20- 40 مليجرام/يوم.
في بعض الحالات، يجب علاج الزوج بشكل إلزامي سواء وُجدت علامات سريرية أم لا لم توجد.

مرتان إلى ثلاث مرات يوميا حسب توجيهات الطبيب.
مدة العلاج
حتى يكون الدواء فعالا، يجب استخدام هذا المضاد الحيوي بانتظام في الجرعات المقررة وطوال المدة التي يصفها لك طبيبك.
لا يشير اختفاء الحمى أو كافة الأعراض الأخرى إلى تمام شفائك. الشعور المحتمل بالإجهاد لا يكون بسبب العلاج بالمضاد الحيوي ولكن بسبب الحمى ذاتها. تقليل أو تعليق علاجك لن يؤثر على هذا الشعور وسيعمل على تأخير شفائك.
في حالات معينة: تكون مدة العلاج من داءُ اللَّمْبِلِيَّات (عدوى طفيلية) وبعض الالتهابات المهبلية هي 10 أيام.
التصرف في حالة تجاوز الجرعة
في حالة حدوث قيء، صعوبة تنسيق الحركة أو التوهان، استشر طبيبك. فقد يصف لك علاجا.
الآثار الجانبية غير المرغوبة
مثله مثل كافة المنتجات النشطة، قد يسبب هذا الدواء بعض الآثار غير المريحة بشكل أو بآخر:
- أعراض الجهاز الهضمي
• غثيان، قيء، تقلصات شُرْسوفِية، إسهال.
• التهاب اللسان مع إحساس بجفاف الفم، التهاب الفم، مذاق معدني بالفم، فقدان الشهية؛
• وبشكل استثنائي، حالات التهاب البنكرياس تنعكس في حالة توقف العلاج.
- الأعراض التي تظهر على الجلد والأغشية المخاطية
• الهبّات الساخنة مع احمرار الوجه، حكة، طفح جلدي يصاحبه حمى أحيانا.
• الشرى (طفح جلدي مماثل للذي يثيره نبات القراص) تورم مفاجئ للوجه والرقبة ذو منشأ تحسسي (وذمة Quinkle)
بشكل استثنائي، صدمة ذات منشأ تحسسي.
- أعراض الجهاز العصبي:
• صداع
• تلف العصب الموجود بالأعضاء
• تشنجات، دوار، عدم تناسق الحركات الطوعية.
- الاضطرابات النفسية
• ارتباك، هلوسة.
- اضطرابات الدم
• عدد غير طبيعي لكرات الدم البيضاء أو الصفائح الدموية في حالات نادرة جدا.
- أعراض الكبد
• حالات نادرة جدا من شذوذ التوازن الكبدي المنعكس والتهاب الكبد الناتج عن انسداد القنوات المرارية.
- غير ذلك
• تغير لون البول إلى اللون الأحمر المائل للبني بسبب الدواء.
أخبر طبيبك أو الصيدلي بكافة الآثار غير المرغوبة أو غير المريحة التي من المحتمل أنها لم ترد في هذه النشرة.
الحفظ
لا تتجاوز تاريخ انتهاء الصلاحية المدون على العبوة من الخارج بأي حال من الأحوال.
المضادات الحيوية فعالة في مكافحة العدوى البكتيرية. لكنها غير فعالة تماما في مكافحة العدوى الفيروسية.

Herbicides
Solubility
The solubility of herbicides in water varies greatly with the type of herbicide. Solubility is a factor that determines the depth that the herbicide will move in the soil and the amount of herbicide available for absorption by plants from the soil solution. Generally, herbicides with higher water solubilities will be carried to a deeper depth. The more herbicide in the soil solution the more toxic the herbicide will be to the plants.
Volatility
Volatility is the tendency of a liquid to become a gas and increases as the vapor pressure of the liquid increases. Herbicides with a high vapor pressure that are applied through a sprinkler irrigation system may lose too much as a gas before reaching the crop or soil. Evaporation losses from the soil surface are also more rapid with higher vapor pressures.
Adsorption
Herbicides are easily adsorbed on organic matter and clay particles in the soil. Since herbicides vary in their tendency to be adsorbed and the organic matter and clay content will also vary in the soil, adsorption of herbicides for each condition is difficult to predict. Adsorption removes the herbicide from the soil solution and reduces the activity. Herbicides adsorbed on organic matter and clay are not readily decomposed and are therefore more persistent.
Movement of herbicides into the soil depends on solubility, volatility and adsorption. Herbicides will generally move only a fraction of the distance that the water moves. Since most weeds germinate in the top 25- 50 mm of the soil, the herbicide must be concentrated in this zone. Sufficient water must be applied to move the herbicide into this germination zone but not beyond. If too little water is applied the herbicide would remain near the soil surface where it may be lost by volatilization or breakdown by ultraviolet light. Herbicides are also less active in dry conditions. Moving the herbicides below the soil surface where rapid drying does not readily occur may be more effective.
Sprinklers are the most widely used irrigation systems for applying herbicides although success with application through some forms of trickle irrigation systems with certain chemicals has also been effective. Herbicides, fungicides, nematocides and other kinds of soil fumigants have been applied through trickle irrigation systems with various degrees of success. Spray emitters or undertree irrigation systems are more effective for herbicide application than drip or trickle emitter systems as some herbicides break down quickly once contact with moist soil is made.
Application of nematocides through trickle irrigation systems have been very successful. These chemicals may also react with plastics such as PVC pipe. Nematodde emulsions using surfactant type emulsifiers should not he used as surfactants degrade polyethylene pipe.
Herbigation: Application of Herbicides with Center Pivots.
The need and interest for effective and economical utilization of center pivot sprinkler irrigation has sparked a renewed interest in herbigation in some parts of the U.S. Using sprinkler systems to apply herbicides saves fuel, manpower, and equipment cost. Research conducted in other states has indicated that many herbicides that have pre-emergence activity are effective when applied through a center pivot. The results obtained have equaled or exceeded the level of weed control for conventional application where direct comparisons were made.
The effectiveness of post-emergence herbicides has been more variable than pre-emergence herbicides when applied through a center pivot. Under conventional ground or aerial application, post-emergence herbicides are normally applied in spray volumes of 1 to 20 gallons per acre. The minimum practical volume of water that can be applied through sprinkler irrigation systems is 0.1 inches or about 2,700 gallons per acre. It is generally thought that about 100 gallons per acre will cause dripping and runoff from plant surfaces. From this it would appear that the effectiveness of post-emergence herbicides would be reduced since a significant amount of the spray solution would not stay in contact with the plant surface. However, USDA-ARS researchers in Georgia have applied Lasso, Blazer, Atrazine, Basagran, Buctril, Bladex, Amiben, Fusilade, Roundup, Dual, Dyanap, Paraquat, Cobra, and Poast through irrigation. The herbicides were applied with irrigation rates of 0.64 to 1.6 inches.

All these chemicals gave fair to good results except for Basagran, Roundup, and Paraquat (Dowler, 1984). It should be noted that the application of the aforementioned herbicides was conducted as research and that the general use of these products must conform to labeled guidelines for use.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Herbigation
Application of herbicides through center pivot irrigation systems involves certain advantages and disadvantages (Ogg et al., 1988). These are summarized below.
Advantages
• Reduces the cost of herbicide application. Applying herbicides through an irrigation system usually will save 50 percent or more in application costs.
• Reduces energy consumption. Applying herbicides through irrigation systems can reduce energy consumption for herbicide application by 90 percent.
• May reduce labor costs. Where center pivots are used, one man can supervise the treatment of two to four center pivots, thus reducing the labor needed to operate sprayers.
• Reduces equipment needs. Applying herbicides through irrigation systems saves wear on tractors, sprayers, and in some cases soil incorporation equipment.
• Reduces soil compaction. Because vehicle travel for spraying is eliminated, soil compaction is reduced.
• Reduces operator hazards. Because the operator does not have to be in the field near the application, and because the herbicide is much more diluted in the irrigation water, actual exposure to the herbicide by the operator is reduced.
• Can reduce environmental hazards. Because herbicides are more diluted in irrigation water than in conventional sprays, and because there is less drift from sprinklers than from sprayers, hazards to non-target organisms are reduced. Also, herbicide residues on crop foliage are reduced.
• May increase herbicide activity. In some cases, herbicides applied to the soil through irrigation systems are more active than when applied conventionally.
Allows more uniform application. Properly designed and operated center pivot sprinkler systems can apply herbicides more uniformly than aircraft and as uniformly as ground sprayers.
Insures timely applications of herbicides. Herbicides can be applied at the proper time with the irrigation system, even if the field is too wet for tractors or when an aircraft is unavailable. Also applying the herbicide with the irrigation water places the herbicide in the weed seed zone when . conditions are ideal for herbicide action.
Is compatible with reduced or no-till farming. Because the irrigation water substitutes for mechanical incorporation, herbicides can be applied without soil tillage.
May reduce crop phytotoxicity. When herbicides are applied after crop emergence, there is less herbicide left on the crop from an irrigation application than from conventional sprays.
Disadvantages
Requires greater management input. Applying herbicides in irrigation water requires more management input to insure that personnel in char of the treatment fully understand the calibration of injection equipment operation of the sprinkler system, and operation of the check valves, an; siphon valves, and other safety devices.
May require some additional equipment. If herbicides formulated as wettable powders are to be applied, the solution tank should be equipp with some form of agitation. Mechanical agitation is preferred. For maximum utilization, the injection equipment and solution tank shoulc one unit that can be easily transported from field to field. Anti-siphon valves, check valves, and vacuum break valves must be installed in the sprinkler system to prevent contamination of the water source.
Can increase environmental hazards. If proper safety measures are no used, water sources or the irrigation drainage system can be contamina with herbicide treated water.
Increases application time compared to aircraft application. Applying herbicides through an irrigation system to large fields takes many hour compared to 1 or 2 hours for an aircraft. Because more time is needed fc the application, environmental conditions such as wind or rain may interfere with applications made through irrigation systems. May require unnecessary irrigation. Irrigation to apply herbicides may have to be made when water is not needed by the crop; for example, emergence application of a herbicide in irriga tion water when the soil if already moist. i
Factors Affecting the Application of Herbicides in Irrigation Water
Herbicide Properties
Solubility in water, adsorption onto organic matter and clay, and volatility affect the behavior of herbicides whether they are sprayed conventionally or applied in irrigation water.
Movement in Soil
Herbicides applied with irrigation water carried by the water into the soil. The extent of the movement of herbicides into the soil is a function of solubility, adsorption, and volatility. Estimating how far the herbicide will move into the soil during an irrigation is very important. Generally, a herbicide will move only a proportion of the distance that the water moves.
Most weed seeds germinate in the top 1 to 2 inches of soil. To control weeds most effectively, the herbicide must be concentrated in the zone of weed seed germination. If too much water is applied, the herbicide may be carried below the weed seed germination zone. If too little water is applied, the herbicide will remain near the soil surface, where it may be lost by volatilization or decomposition by ultra-violet light from the sun. Also, the soil dries rapidly near the surface and herbicides are less active in dry conditions.
Environmental Conditions
Climatic Conditions
Wind velocity is the most important environmental factor affecting the application of herbicides through sprinkler irrigation systems. Wind distorts the water application pattern, causing the herbicides to be distributed unevenly. Disruption of the sprinkler pattern is least with continuously moving systems and greatest with solid-set systems. Spacing sprinklers closer together, reducing the height or angle of water trajectory, increasing nozzle size, and reducing water pressure will help to minimize the effects of wind. Herbicides should not be applied if wind velocities exceed 12 to 15 miles per hour for continuously moving systems and about half that (6 to 7 miles per hour) for other systems. :
Wind also increases evaporation and can increase the loss of volatile herbicides. If volatile herbicides are applied when temperatures are high and relative humidity is low, excessive amounts of water and herbicide may be lost to the atmosphere. Also, the vapors of some herbicides may injure crops and other non-target organisms.
High temperatures increase water loss and herbicides may not be moved to the desired depth in the soil.
Soil Factors
Soil properties must be considered in herbicide selection, regardless of the application method. Soil texture (sand, sift, and day composition) and organic matter influence the performance of soil-applied herbicides and are especially important with herbicides used in irrigation water. Organic matter and, to a lesser extent clay parties tend to bind herbicides, retarding their movement with water. Generally, herbicides are most mobile in sandy soils low in organic matter and require small amounts of water for adequate incorporation. Excessive irrigation water may move soluble herbicides below the zone of germinating weed seeds in sandy soils and weeds will not be controlled.
Soil moisture influences the penetration of irrigation water and therefore influence the movement of herbicides into the soil. On dry soil, water penetration and herbicide movement are less than with moist soil. Soil moisture is an especially important factor with volatile herbicides. The ability of wet soils to bind and hold these herbicides is greatly reduced and vapor losses increase. Volatile herbicides applied in irrigation water to wet soil may volatilize excessively and weeds will i be controlled.
Amount and Rate of Water Application
Determining the amount and rate of irrigation water to be applied is very important for the successful application of herbicides in irrigation water. Most soil active herbicides can be applied effectively through sprinklers in 0.2 to 1.0 inch of water Where furrow irrigation is used, 1.5 to 2.0 inches of water is the practical minimum.
Where sprinkler systems are used the water should not be applied faster than it be absorbed by the soil. If the application rate is too high, water wm accumulate low areas and herbicides will be applied unevenly.
Equipment
Herbicides applied through irrigation systems will be distributed only as unifor as the irrigation water. An over application in one area could injure the crop, wr an under application in another area may not control weeds.
Before herbicides are applied through any irrigation system, the uniformity of v. application throughout the system should be checked. The uniformity coefficient should be at least 80 percent and preferably 90 percent or more. Irrigators should consult irrigation authorities for instructions on how to determine the uniformity coefficient of their irrigation system. Also, worn or improperly operating nozzle gaskets, valves and other fittings should be replaced or repaired.
The basic system for delivering a herbicide into an irrigation system includes a chemical supply tank, an injection system, and the appropriate safety and antisiphon devices that prevent potential contamination of the water source.
Herbicides That May be Used for Chemigation. It is a violation of U.S. state and federal law to use a pesticide inconsistent with product labeling. In the past, if the label did not state you could not apply the herbicide through an irrigation system it was assumed you could. However, a recent change in the law requires that for a herbicide to be legally applied through an irrigation system the label for that herbicide must state that it can be used in that manner.
Herbicide labels should be carefully reviewed for more specific details and to note any changes made since the conception of this publication. Local officials or experts can also furnish additional information.
Tips for Successful Herbigation
There are several important rules that should be considered when applying herbicides through a sprinkler irrigation system. Preemergence herbicides should be applied with enough water to distribute them in the surface 2- W of soil. The amount of water required will be somewhat dependent on the solubility of the herbicide. Generally 0.5" of water will be required on sandy soils and 0.75" of water on fine textured soils. It is also important that the herbicide be applied within about 5 days after the last tillage, otherwise some weed seeds may have started to germinate before the herbicide was applied.
With highly volatile herbicides such as Eradicane, Sutan , and to a lesser extent Treflan and Prowl, the herbicides should be applied to dry soil. When applied to wet soil more of the herbicide will be lost through volatilization. Also, inject the herbicides all the time while irrigating or at the beginning of the set. Don't apply the herbicides at the end of the set after the soil has been wetted.
Postemergence herbicides should generally be applied in a low volume of water (W or less). Too much water will cause a significant amount of the herbicide to be lost by dripping from the leaf surface. Applying the herbicides with oil will increase the absorption of the herbicide into the plant.

يتطلب إدارة أكثر للإدخال. يتطلب وضع مبيدات الأعشاب في مياه الري إدارة أكثر للإدخال لضمان فهم الأشخاص المسئولين عن عملية المعالجة بالكامل لعملية معايرة معدات الحقن لنظام الرش وتشغيل صمامات الفحص، وصمامات الأنابيب وأجهزة السلامة الأخرى.
قد يتطلب بعض المعدات الإضافية. إذا كانت مبيدات الأعشاب التي سيتم وضعها يتم تركيبها في صورة مساحيق قابلة للبلل، فيجب تجهيز خزان المحلول ببعض وسائل التحريك. يُفضل التحريك الميكانيكي. للاستخدام الأمثل، يفضل أن تكون آلة الحقن وخزان المحلول وحدة واحدة يمكن نقلها بسهولة من حقل إلى آخر. يجب تركيب صمامات مانعة للتدفق العكسي، وصمامات فحص، وصمامات معادلة الضغط السالب (vacuum break) في نظام الرش لتجنب تلوث مصدر الماء.
يمكن أن يزيد المخاطر البيئية. إذا لم يتم استخدام تدابير السلامة المناسبة، يمكن تلوث مصادر المياه أو نظام تصريف مياه الري بالمياه التي تمت معالجتها بمبيدات الأعشاب.
يزيد من وقت الوضع مقارنة بالوضع باستخدام الطائرات. يمكن أن يستغرق وضع مبيدات الأعشاب خلال أحد أنظمة الري للحقول الكبيرة عدة ساعات مقارنة بساعة واحدة أو ساعتين للوضع باستخدام الطائرات. وبسبب طول الوقت اللازم لعملية الوضع، قد تتدخل بعض الظروف البيئية مثل الرياح والأمطار مع الوضع من خلال أنظمة الري.
قد يتطلب عمليات ري غير ضرورية. قد يتحتم القيام بالري لوضع مبيدات الأعشاب في حالة عدم احتياج المحصول للمياه؛ على سبيل المثال، الحاجة إلى وضع مبيدات الأعشاب في مياه الري عندما تكون التربة مبللة بالفعل.
العوامل المؤثرة على وضع مبيدات الأعشاب في مياه الري
خصائص مبيدات الأعشاب
تؤثر الانحلالية في الماء، والامتزاز على سطح المواد العضوية والطين، و التطايرية على سلوك مبيدات الأعشاب سواء تم رشها بالطرق التقليدية أو تم وضعها في ماء الري.
الحركة داخل التربة
تحمل المياه مبيدات الأعشاب التي يتم وضعها مع ماء الري إلى داخل التربة. يمثل مدى حركة مبيدات الأعشاب إلى داخل التربة عاملا أساسيا في الانحلالية والامتزاز والتطايرية. ويعد تقدير المسافة التي سيتحركها المبيد العشبي داخل التربة أثناء الري عاملا بالغ الأهمية. ستتحرك مبيدات الأعشاب جزء فقط من المسافة التي ستتحركها المياه.
تنبت معظم الأعشاب في أعلى 2 – 1 بوصة من التربة. ولمكافحة الأعشاب بفاعلية بالغة، يجب أن يتركز المبيد العشبي في منطقة إنبات بذور الأعشاب. إذا تم وضع الكثير جدا من المياه، قد يُحمل المبيد العشبي إلى أسفل منطقة إنبات بذور الأعشاب. وإذا تم وضع القليل جدا من المياه، سيظل مبيد الأعشاب قريب من سطح التربة وسيتم فقده من خلال التطاير أو التحلل بواسطة الأشعة فوق البنفسجية الصادرة من الشمس. وكذلك فإن التربة تجف بسرعة بالقرب من السطح وتكون مبيدات الأعشاب أقل فاعلية في الظروف الجافة.
الظروف البيئية
الظروف المناخية
تعتبر سرعة الرياح أهم العوامل البيئية المؤثرة على وضع مبيدات الأعشاب خلال أنظمة الري بالرش. تعمل الرياح على تشويه طريقة وضع المياه وبالتالي تسبب توزيع مبيدات الأعشاب بطريقة غير موحدة. يكون أقل تأثير لتشويه نظام الرش مع الأنظمة المتحركة بصفة مستمرة ويكون أكبر تأثير له في الأنظمة الثابتة. سيساعد تقريب تباعد الرشاشات عن بعضها، وتقليل ارتفاع أو زاوية مسار المياه، وزيادة حجم الفوهات، وتقليل ضغط المياه على تقليل تأثيرات الرياح إلى أقل حد ممكن. يجب عدم وضع المبيدات إذا تجاوزت سرعة الرياح 12 إلى 15 ميل في الساعة لأنظمة الري المتحركة بصفة مستمرة وحوالي نصف هذه السرعة (6 إلى 7 ميل في الساعة) للأنظمة الأخرى.
تعمل الرياح أيضا على زيادة التبخر وقد تزيد من فقد المبيدات المتطايرة. في حالة وضع مبيدات الأعشاب المتطايرة في وجود درجات حرارة مرتفعة ورطوبة نسبية منخفضة، قد يتم فقد كميات زائدة من المياه والمبيدات في الغلاف الجوي. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، قد تضر أبخرة المبيدات المحاصيل والكائنات غير المستهدفة.
تزيد درجات الحرارة من فقد المياه وقد لا يتم نقل المبيدات إلى العمق المطلوب في التربة.
عوامل التربة
يجب وضع خصائص التربة بالحسبان عند اختيار مبيدات الأعشاب بغض النظر عن طريقة الوضع. يؤثر قوام التربة (الرمل، النخالة، التركيب اليومي) والمواد العضوية على أداء المبيدات الموضوعة في التربة ويكون له أهمية خاصة مع مبيدات الأعشاب الموضوعة في مياه الري. تميل المواد العضوية وجزيئات الطين بنسبة أقل إلى الاتحاد بمبيدات الأعشاب فتعيق حركتها مع الماء. وبصفة عامة، فإن مبيدات الأعشاب تكون أكثر قابلية للحركة في التربة الرملية ذات المحتوى المنخفض للمواد العضوية والتي تتطلب كميات صغيرة من المياه للحصول على الدمج الكافي. قد تعمل زيادة ماء الري على نقل مبيدات الأعشاب الذائبة إلى أسفل منطقة إنبات بذور الأعشاب في التربة الرملية مما يؤدي إلى عدم مكافحة الأعشاب.
تؤثر رطوبة التربة على اختراق مياه الري وبالتالي تؤثر على حركة مبيدات الأعشاب إلى داخل الربة. تكون حركة المبيدات واختراق المياه أقل في التربة الجافة عنه في التربة المبللة. وتكون لرطوبة التربة أهمية خاصة مع المبيدات المتطايرة. وتقل قدرة التربة المبللة على تطويق تلك المبيدات والاحتفاظ بها بدرجة كبيرة وتزيد كميات البخار المفقودة. قد تتطاير مبيدات الأعشاب المضافة إلى التربة المبللة خلال مياه الري بشكل زائد ولن تتم مكافحة الأعشاب.
كمية ومعدل وضع المياه
يعتبر تحديد كمية ومعدل مياه الري التي ستتم إضافتها أمر بالغ الأهمية لنجاح وضع مبيدات الأعشاب في مياه الري. يمكن وضع معظم مبيدات الأعشاب النشطة في التربة بطريقة فعالة خلال رشاشات بها 0.2 إلى 1.0 بوصة من المياه. عند استخدام طريقة الري بالخطوط، يكون وضع 1.5 إلى 2.0 بوصة من المياه هو أقل حد عملي.
عند استخدام أنظمة الري بالرش، يجب عدم وضع المياه بمعدل أسرع من امتصاص التربة للمياه. إذا كان معدل الإضافة عال جدا، ستتراكم المياه في المناطق المنخفضة وسيتم توزيع مبيدات الأعشاب بطريقة غير موحدة.
المعدات
سيتم توزيع مبيدات الأعشاب الموضوعة خلال أنظمة الري بنفس قدر تناسق توزيع مياه الري. سيعمل فرط الإضافة في منطقة واحدة بإلحاق الضرر بالنبات، وسيعمل نقص الإضافة في مناطق أخرى على عدم مكافحة الأعشاب.
قبل وضع مبيدات الأعشاب خلال أنظمة الري، يجب التأكد من توزيع وضع المياه بشكل موحد في النظام بأكمله. يجب أن يكون معامل التماثل 80% على الأقل ويُفضل أن يكون 90% أو أكبر. يجب على عمال الري استشارة السلطات للحصول على التعليمات الخاصة بكيفية تحديد معامل التماثل لأنظمة الري الخاصة بهم. وكذلك، يجب استبدال أو إصلاح حشوات الفوهات، أو الصمامات، أو التركيبات الأخرى المتآكلة أو التي تعمل بشكل غير سليم.
يتكون الجهاز الأساسي المناسب لوضع المبيد العشبي في أحد أنظمة الري من خزان إمداد بالمادة الكيميائية، نظام حقن، وأجهزة السلامة وموانع الارتجاع المناسبة التي تمنع التلوث المحتمل لمصدر المياه.
مبيدات الأعشاب التي يمكن استخدامها للري الكيماوي
يعد استخدام أحد المبيدات في غير الأغراض الموضحة على الملصق الخاص به انتهاكا لقانون الولايات المتحدة الفيدرالي والحكومي. وكان من المفترض في الماضي أنه إذا لم يذكر الملصق حظر إضافة المبيدات عبر أحد أنظمة الري فيمكنك القيام بذلك. إلا أن تغييرا حديثا في القانون يتطلب ضرورة ذكر الملصق الخاص بأحد المبيدات إمكانية استخدام المبيد خلال أحد أنظمة الري حتى تكون عملية استخدام المبيد بهذه الطريقة قانونية.
يجب مراجعة ملصق المبيد بعناية للتعرف على المزيد من التفاصيل المحددة ولملاحظة أية تغييرات تمت منذ بداية هذا المنشور. يمكن أيضا للمسئولين والخبراء المحليين تقديم معلومات إضافية.
نصائح لنجاح وضع مبيدات الأعشاب باستخدام طرق الري
هناك عدة قواعد هامة يجب الأخذ بها عند وضع مبيدات الأعشاب عبر أحد أنظمة الري بالرش. يجب وضع مبيدات الأعشاب التي يتم استخدامها قبل ظهور الأعشاب باستخدام كمية مياه كافية لتوزيعها في أعلى 2 إلى ½ بوصة من سطح التربة، ستعتمد كمية المياه اللازمة إلى حد ما على انحلالية المبيد العشبي. بوجه عام، 0.5 بوصة من المياه ستكون مطلوبة في التربة الرملية و 0.75 بوصة في التربة ذات القوام الجيد. ومن المهم أيضا أن يتم وضع المبيد العشبي خلال حوالي 5 أيام بعد آخر عملية حرث وإلا ستكون بعض بذور الأعشاب قد بدأت بالفعل في الإنبات قبل وضع المبيد.
وبالنسبة لمبيدات الأعشاب ذات التطايرية العالية مثل Eradicane، Sutan والأقل إلى حد ما Treflan و Prowl، يجب إضافة مبيدات الأعشاب إلى تربة جافة. عند إضافتها إلى تربة مبللة سيتم فقد الكثير من المبيد عن طريق التبخر. كذلك قم بحقن المبيد طوال وقت الري أو في بداية المجموعة. لا قم بوضع المبيد في نهاية المجموعة بعد أن تصبح التربة مبللة.
يجب بصفة عامة وضع مبيدات الأعشاب المستخدمة بعد الظهور في أحجام قليلة من المياه (½ بوصة أو أقل). استخدام كميات كبيرة جدا من المياه سيسبب فقد كميات كبيرة من المبيد عن طريق السيلان من على سطح الأوراق. وضع مبيدات الأعشاب مع الزيت سيزيد من امتصاص النباتات للمبيد.
