Source text - Spanish La nueva influenza A (H1N1) es un nuevo virus de la influenza de origen porcino que se detectó por primera vez en abril del 2009. Este virus se está propagando de persona a persona y ha generado un brote de la enfermedad a nivel internacional.
Se desconoce en este momento qué tan grave será este brote del virus nuevo H1N1 en términos de casos de enfermedad y muertes comparado con otros virus de la influenza. Debido a que este es un virus nuevo, la mayoría de las personas no tendrán inmunidad por lo que la enfermedad puede ser más grave y propagarse en forma más generalizada. En la actualidad no hay una vacuna contra el virus.
Los síntomas de este virus nuevo de la influenza H1N1 en las personas son similares a los síntomas de la influenza o gripe estacional e incluyen fiebre, tos, dolor de garganta, moqueo o secreción nasal, dolores en el cuerpo, dolor de cabeza, escalofríos y fatiga. Una cantidad significativa de personas infectadas por este virus también han reportado tener vómito y diarrea. Translation - English The novel influenza A (H1N1) is a new influenza virus originating from pigs that was first detected in April 2009. The virus spreads from person to person and has generated a disease outbreak on an international level.
It is currently unknown how serious the novel H1N1 virus outbreak will be in terms of infection cases and deaths compared with those from other influenza viruses. Since it is a new virus, most people will not have immunity, for which reason it may be more serious and spread more extensively. There is currently no vaccine against the virus.
The symptoms of this new H1N1 influenza virus are similar in humans to the symptoms of the seasonal flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose or nasal discharge, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. A significant proportion of people infected with the virus have also reported experiencing vomiting and diarrhea. Furthermore, as may also be the case with seasonal flu, there have been cases of sickness and death among people as a result of complications associated with the virus.

Le plus souvent, l'obésité est appréciée par le poids mais il faut noter qu'il n'y a pas de stricte équivalence entre poids et obésité puisque dans le poids interviennent, outre la masse grasse, le tissu osseux, l'eau et le muscle.
L'obésité est définie par un Indice de Masse Corporelle (IMC) ou Body Mass Index (BMI). L'IMC est calculé en divisant le poids de la personne par le carré de sa taille (Kg / m2). Si cet indice est supérieur ou égal à 30, l'individu est considéré comme obèse. Entre 25 et 30, on parle de préobésité. A partir de 40 Kg / m2, on parle d'obésité morbide. C'est le seuil à partir duquel on risque de voir apparaître une morbidité secondaire à différents types de complications.
Epidémiologie
L'obésité est devenue la première maladie non infectieuse de l'Histoire. C'est une véritable épidémie qui frappe aussi bien les pays industrialisés que les pays en voie de développement. Obesity is “the condition in which excess fat has accumulated in the body, mostly in the subcutaneous tissues”, according to a definition from the Oxford Concise Medical Dictionary. Obesity is most commonly assessed according to weight, but it must be noted that there is no absolute equivalence between weight and obesity because weight is affected by body fat, bone tissue, water and muscle.
Obesity is defined by a Body Mass Index (BMI). The BMI is calculated by dividing the weight of the person by the square of their height (kg /m2). If this index is above or equal to 30, the individual is considered obese. Between 25 and 30, it is a case of preobesity. From 40 kg /m2, it is a question of morbid obesity. This is the threshold from which there is a danger of secondary morbidity with different types of complications.
Epidemiology
Obesity has become the most significant non-infectious disease in history. It is truly an epidemic with as great a likelihood of affecting industrialized countries as developing nations. The World Health Organization currently lists the prevention and management of obesity as a priority in the field of Nutritional Pathology.

Debido a la peste bubónica en Gran Bretaña en 1665, que mató aproximadamente 100,000 personas (un cuarto de la población de Londres) en solo 18 meses, se ordenó una cuarentena. Ese año, los estudiantes de la Universidad de Cambridge fueron obligados a retornar a sus hogares.

Due to the Bubonic Plague in Great Britain in 1665, which killed approximately 100,000 people (a quarter of the population of London) in only 18 months, a quarantine was called. That year, the students of the University of Cambridge were made to return home.

Translation - English Last night, Walther dreamed again about the stone stairs going down towards the sea in Portbou. After getting up, the image lingers in his mind for several hours. It is a narrow staircase that descends a few dozen metres, and it is so perfectly placed that, from the first steps, one sees only two things – the sea on one side and the sky on the other. He cannot work out from where his fevered mind has fished out the scene. From a film, perhaps. Or from a former life.
