Social format can be used as one of Moodle course formats. This format has clean and clear structure. Mostly it can be used for various discussions about certain topics. In forums teachers can write assignments or questions for students and students should post answers or discuss with course colleagues.
For example: teacher embeds some videos which are uploaded to Youtube. They can give any assignment to course students, from simple discussion to "video response", paper work, etc.
Forums in social format can be created for every topic, so for example every week new video is posted and students discuss about it with their course friends and teacher.
Assignments can be attached in forum discussion as files. Administrator sets maximum attachment size in megabytes (MB). Students can attach MS Word documents, PDFs, etc. Also students can embed video in the forum post.
Other case is then course is prepared by 2-3 or more teachers, then every teacher can have his own forum and students can discuss with every teacher individually.
Here is example of OLAREX remote experiments. There is 4 videos which should be watched by students, then they have to discuss on every case study (Fig. 1). Teacher can ask various questions, answer to student questions or post assignments.

1.1. Formato social
El Formato social se puede utilizar como uno de los formatos de curso en Moodle. Este formato posee una estructura limpia y clara. Generalmente, se utiliza para diferentes debates sobre diversos temas. En los foros los profesores pueden escribir tareas o preguntas a los estudiantes y los estudiantes pueden publicar sus respuestas o debatir con los compañeros del curso.
Por ejemplo: el profesor inserta algunos vídeos que se encuentran subidos en Youtube. Se pueden utilizar para pedir cualquier tarea a los estudiantes, desde un simple debate a “respuestas en vídeo”, un trabajo, etc.
Los foros en el formato social se pueden crear para cada tema, así que, por ejemplo cada semana se publica un nuevo vídeo y los estudiantes debaten sobre él con sus compañeros del curso y el profesor.
Las tareas se pueden adjuntar en las discusiones del foro como archivos. El administrador es el que fija el tamaño máximo de cada archivo adjunto en megabytes (MB). Se permite a los estudiantes adjuntar documentos de MS Word, PDFs, etc., así como insertar videos en las publicaciones del foro.
Otro caso es cuando el curso se prepara con 2, 3 o más profesores, entonces cada profesor puede tener su propio foro y los estudiantes pueden debatir con cada uno de ellos individualmente.
Aquí vemos un ejemplo de los experimentos remotos de OLAREX. Hay 4 vídeos que los estudiantes deben ver y después tienen que comentar cada caso (Fig. 1). El profesor puede hacer varias preguntas, responder a las preguntas de los alumnos o publicar tareas.
